Last year I reviewed the debut release from Barnsley punkers The Puncturists and now they are back with a new line-up and a more passionate sound. The garage-meets-77 punk sound is still there but they have been augmented with the addition of Gail on lead vocals and what a great move that was bringing her into the fold.
These two new tunes showcase the Puncturists sound of the day, and they leave me hungry for more. Everybody’s on Drugs is a solid early punk tune that reminds me of 999 in places but with Gail’s excellent vocal delivery. Spectre (On My Back) is a mid-paced rocker that features a superb catchy chorus. Tom Chapman
