Despite a significantly revamped line-up from the bands High In Hollywood EP (with only guitarist and vocalist Shane Grist remaining), The 501s have retained their soaring alternative rock sound on these two tracks with Scars having a distinctly Welsh sound (think Manics/Phonics), although B side Who We Are is somewhat of a departure and probably the bands heaviest track to date, which may be attributable to the arrival of Funeral For A Friend’s six string picker Darran Smith. There’s no denying the quality of song writing and musicianship on both tracks; yet another example of the high standard of Rock n Roll (of all styles) currently coming out of Wales. Ian Pickens
