First up Slomatics hit you with an incredibly blunt full force doom / metal blow. Slow paced and packing a severely weighty monolithic slab of riff and percussion carnage. Drawn out vocals, chugging guitars and masterful drumming – 4.27 minutes of bastardised sludge fuzz. Heavy as fuck. Suitably soothing.
Holly Hunt are not so doom laden, but nevertheless still dosed in a heavy weight groove that maximises the duo’s full potential. The instrumental trance of ‘Bill Ward’ will find it’s way into many a deep void. This 7” should carry a warning sticker ‘FUCKIN’ HEAVY!’. Mark Freebase
