Originally released in 1996 – this reissue sees the original double album complemented by bonus tracks taken from the Love in Space EP. It’s Hawkwind at their live best featuring vocalist Ron Tree, Alan Davey (bass/keyboards), Richard Chadwick on drums and of course the Hawklord himself Dave Brock on guitars/synths/keyboards & vocals. Recorded during the bands 1995 tour it features most of the bands ‘Alien 4’ album tracks with a few apt additions (including the oft maligned, but still entertaining, ‘Silver Machine’ and ‘Assassins of Allah’). Keyboards and spoken word dominate the proceedings harking back to the Calvert incarnation of the band. Decent liner notes with a few photos from the tour supplement the music; the only thing lacking from this release is the great visuals that accompanied his production.  Ian Pickens
