War On Women share riotous music video for “Anarcha”

On the heels of their recently released third full-length Capture The Flag, co-ed feminist punk band War On Women have unveiled a powerful music video for the track “Anarcha.”  Vocalist Shawna Potter commented, “This song is about all the stories our country has buried or ignored. I wanted to memorialize Anarcha, Lucy, and Betsey in the best way I knew how, through song, and the shooting of this video just happened to coincide with tearing down a statue of J. Marion Sims, the man who experimented on them and other enslaved women.”

War On Women were born screaming—at the world, at the status quo, in the face of oppression. The band’s latest album alcifies that rage, and no one in its wake is safe. Much more than a collection of songs or sonic experiment, Capture The Flag is a call to action that cannot be ignored.
