Sepultura – Machine Messiah (Nuclear Blast)

\"\"

Despite what some of the haters may preach, there’s plenty of life left in these Brazilian metallers yet. If you don’t believe me, just listen to I Am the Enemy, Resistant Parasites or the Slayer-esq prowess of Vandals Nest. Riffs, power and plenty of thrash metal intensity fuel Sepultura’s latest offering. Machine Messiah is heavy, it’s metallic, and while it does contain the odd nu-metal element, overall it’s still a solid record. Opening title track Machine Messiah may not be representative of the album as a whole, but its diversity along with the Eastern feel of Phantom Self adds flavour to it without diluting any of the raw energy that the bands old school fans crave. Derrick Green delivers each song with total conviction, crushing any and all doubters and helps Sepultura maintain their position at the top of the metal food chain. Mark Freebase
