Slasher Dave – Frights (20 Buck Spin)

Ah, at long last John Carpenter and Fabio Frizzi have some serious competition, as (realtively) new kid on the block Slasher Dave unleashes his latest long player of horror centric compositions. If Tangerine Dream and Goblin were led by an acid fried, meth fuelled genius with a penchant for the synth driven music of the late seventies and early eighties whose heart was darker than the abyss that Lucifer was cast into, then their music would have travelled the same left-handed path as Slasher Dave’s does. If you ever wondered what Snake Plissken was listening to when he flew into New York, and what MacReady tuned into when he was flying across the blasted Antarctic wastelands, then your curiosity has finally been satiated. They were listening to Slasher Dave. And as the winter nights draw in and thoughts turn to things of a more stygian nature, might I suggest that, if you know what’s good for you, you follow Mac and Snake’s example?
