While I’m well familiar with the idea of Norwegian black metal, I had no idea anybody from that area of the world was playing stoner rock/metal. Luckily Oslo’s Saint Karloff is doing just that! This trio of cold weather musicians rock out with some amazing groovy riffage and lay some of the most interesting vocals on top of the music. To me they sound like stoner rockers with some Gothic Rock influences. In fact, there are times where I have to remind myself I’m not listening to early Black Sabbath. It makes for a great listen and has cemented me as a fan of this band. All Heed the Black God includes seven tracks of pure happiness that are perfect for those days when you want to chill without Netflix. Jim Dodge
