I’m a horror fan. I’m also a bit of a theatre fanatic, and spent the second half of my teenage years reviewing plays, musicals and productions for the local paper. So when the news that the granddaddy of zombie films, Night of the Living Dead was being adapted for the stage and was destined for a month long run at Pleasance in London reached Mass Movement HQ, I had to find out more. Following a number of frantic emails, I was able to sit down to talk to the show’s producer Katy Lipson and its director Benji Sperring about the difficulties and joys of bringing George A Romero’s undead masterpiece to the stage, zombies and all things horror. And this is what they had to say. Listen, enjoy and book yourself a ringside seat to the show of the year…
