ALEXANDER LOZANO SENDS THE X-MEN BACK TO THE ’80S IN NEW VARIANT COVERS!

This summer, mutantkind heads back to the neon-soaked ‘80s in new ‘80s Variant Covers by celebrated cover artist Alexander Lozano!

Capturing the decade of arcades, synth and bold fashion, Lozano’s artwork spotlights STORM, WOLVERINE, COLOSSUS, ROGUE, MAGIK, and MYSTIQUE in totally rad, ‘80s inspired looks dripping with attitude! The six covers will be featured on issues of X-MenUncanny X-MenX-Men United, and Wolverine throughout July and August. The nostalgic pieces arrive just in time for X-Men: Outback, a new retro series by Steve Orlando and Stephen Segovia. Launched this week, the series revisits the iconic ‘80s era when the X-Men operated out of the Australian Outback.

“I discovered my love for the X-Men back in the 1980s,” Lozano shared. “For me, there’s hardly anything that captures the unique sound and atmosphere of growing up in the ‘80s better than the X-Men in their stylish costumes. They were the unsung heroes who had to face impossible odds. But while the X-Men were busy fighting Magneto, Dark Phoenix and the Hellfire Club, a young generation was trying to find its own identity—somewhere between Miami Vice and punk. So I thought it only fair to put my beloved X-Men through their greatest test of all: the Uncanny ‘80s fashion!!!”
