Ward XVI – The Art of Manipulation (Rock N Growl)

Ward XVI bill themselves as “theatrical avant-garde rock” and that’s the perfect way to describe this band. Their sound includes a touch of techno, a pinch of punk, a capful of creepy carnival music, and a massive amount of metal. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve listened to The Art of Manipulation but I guarantee I like it even more every time I hear it. There are just so many great things going on here it’s difficult to mention them all in just a single review. This album comprises one introduction, three interludes and twelve amazing songs. Based on photos of the band their live show surpasses expectations, just like their music. If you love hearing bands that have taken the familiar in unfamiliar directions you have got to check out Ward XVI! Jim Dodge
