Tricky Lobsters – Worlds Collide (Exile on Mainstream)

\"\"

Every single time I play this record, all I can see in my mind’s eye is the open road through the windscreen of a ’67 GTO, I can hear the laughter of my friends in the background mixing with the lazy, roaring burble of the V8 that’s dragging us toward the horizon and can actually smell the hot asphalt and almost taste the beer* pouring down my throat. Worlds Collide is an almighty and muscular collision of Demon, Black Sabbath, Hawkwind, Vanilla Fudge and Sad Wings of Destiny era Priest that transports you to your personal heaven with its heavy as hell riffs, mind blowing musicianship and classic seventies rock fuelled, stoner grooves.  And the more I listen to Tricky Lobsters, the more I just want to hit the road behind the wheel of three thousand pounds of Mopar powered American muscle. Damn, I love this record… Tim Cundle

*Don’t drink and drive kids. You can have a beer if you’re the passenger, but it’s a big no-no if, and when, you’re the captain.
