Rebecca’s Riot – Chemical Attraction (Self Released)

\"Rebeccca\"

9 tracks of folky prog with a dab of reggae and some easy funk from the South Wales duo. Whimsical vocals which at times remind me of the pureness of early Chumbawamba’s Alice Nutter. Musically the project flirts with Reggae, Folk, Funk, Prog and Rock with a Zappa-esque eclecticism . It’s the funkier tracks that work the best for me, but kudos to vocalist J who holds it all together. Probably a little too mellow for most MM readers but if you fancy something a little bit different, pop along to RR’s Bandcamp page where you can check them out for free, better still chuck them a few quid and pick up the CD.  Ian Pickens
