Randy Savages – It’s a Sellout! Live at the 100 Club (Self Released)

Live albums can often be dubious affairs. The question can be poised at just how live the album actually is. If your name’s Thin Lizzy and your live album is called Live and Dangerous, then if the stories are true, the only live thing are the drums and the rest is overdub central. Thankfully, London’s Randy Savages have gone for the authentic approach and what they deliver on It’s a Sellout! are 5 tracks in all their raw glory. Recorded at the famous 100 Club on Oxford Street, this EP perfectly showcases what the band are capable of. That is, filthy garage punk riffs and a sprinkling of power pop with the emphasis on catchy as hell melodies.

Taken from their double A side 7” released in July 2018, Guilty of Nuthin’ and Intercontinental bookend the package in blistering fashion. In fact, the EP hits you like their wrestling namesake jumping off the top rope and dropping an elbow in your already bloodied face. If you need an introduction into the world of Randy Savages, then look no further than this short, sharp and sweet 5 track digital release. It seems like a lifetime coming, but I have it on very good authority that a debut full length is in the works for 2020. Until then, kick out the jams with this live affair. Oooooh yeeeeaaahh.
