Radkey – Dark Black Makeup (Little Man Records)

\"Radkey\"

This trio immerge as an energised Misfits meets Volbeat fusion of choruses and punk rock sounds. Great songs that take elements of soulful vocals jumbled up with rowdy guitars and memorable rhythms – there is a passion and liveliness throughout ‘Dark Black Makeup’ which keeps the feel of proper music in attendance. Radkey’s crossover appeal amongst the alternative music scene draws elements without pigeonholing them into any particular genre; there is enough of a commercial edge without destroying the driving punk rock ethics and sound. Fun is the name of the game here, and solid musicianship makes the album easy to play though its entirety. My only complaint is that the CD booklet could off been a little more inspiring, considering the great front cover artwork. Mark Freebase
