The Fourth Doctor Adventures in E-Space continue, starring Tom Baker (the Doctor), alongside Lalla Ward (Romana), John Leeson (K-9) and Matthew Waterhouse (Adric).

The TARDIS team last seen on television in 1981 return on audio in two more exciting adventures on two new planets. The first is home to some sinister witches, the second has a constantly changing jigsaw surface…

Guest stars for these latest stories include George Layton (Doctor in the House, It Ain’t Half Hot, Mum), Samuel Blenkin (Dracula, Peaky Blinders) and Nicholas Woodeson (Taboo, Rome).

The Fourth Doctor Adventures: Series 09 Volume 2 is now available as a collector’s edition CD or download at the Big Finish website from £19.99. Both stories are also available as individual downloads at £12.99 each, exclusively from the Big Finish website.

The Planet of Witches by Alan Barnes – Whilst attempting a detailed scan of E-Space, K9 detects the trail of a large spacecraft. Seeking a lead for their escape, the Doctor sets out on its trail towards a misty yellow planet.

Arriving just in time to witness a crash-landing in the planet’s swamps, the Doctor and his crew discover a number of escaping prisoners fleeing from someone claiming to be a Witchfinder… whilst terrifying ‘familiars’ float around them.

For this is the planet of the witches… and the witches may just know the way home.

The Quest of the Engineer by Andrew Smith – The TARDIS crew’s attempts to escape E-Space lead them to a strange planet with a surface that shifts and changes constantly.

Losing their ship down a fissure, they venture into the depths of this world and encounter the man who rules this place – a man known only as ‘the Engineer’. He tells them that he’s on a quest for illumination, and to find a rumoured portal in space that may lead to another reality, with knowledge unknown in this universe.

It seems he may be on the same quest as the Doctor and his friends. But can he be trusted? And who is he really?

Actor Tom Baker said: “So many of the most marvellous things in the world are preposterous, like falling in love, getting angry, or getting drunk. Life is full of preposterous things. But at the very top of this preposterous activity, making Doctor Who surely has got to be right up there. I have never, ever in my whole life – and I’m an old man now – been so happy as I am right now, making Doctor Who for Big Finish Productions.

“When there are a group of companions with me, it’s more fun. There are more responses. There’s a bigger audience for the Doctor. Whoever plays the Doctor is always grandstanding. The Doctor is always showing off, even if it’s just for the benefit of a tin dog. It’s incredible. I feel just as much enthusiasm now as I did at the very beginning of my time in Doctor Who. I love the other actors.”

The Fourth Doctor Adventures: Series 09 Volume 2 is now available as a collector’s edition CD or download at the Big Finish website from £19.99. All CD purchases unlock a download option via the Big Finish app and the Big Finish website.

Big Finish listeners can save money by buying multiple releases in the Doctor Who: The Fourth Doctor Adventures range in a bundle. Both volumes one and two of series nine are available from just £40 when bought together.
