Jack’s back, baby! Jack’s back!

It’s time to follow Captain Jack Harkness and his vortex manipulator on three exciting new full-cast audio adventures, with River Song and Jackie Tyler

There’s no denying that the leader of Cardiff’s Torchwood Three has enjoyed a long and varied life. We’ve had glimpses of what he gets up to, learned his real name, seen him encounter the Sixth Doctor, Jackie Tyler and Trinity Wells, and work his way through various decades.

Now we’re back with the good ol’ captain for a third volume of adventures, starring John Barrowman, Camille Coduri and Alex Kingston.

The Lives of Captain Jack volume three is available to buy now from £19.99, exclusively from the Big Finish website.

Producer James Goss said: “The listeners love Jack and Jackie Tyler as much as we do. They barely had a scene together on screen and yet John Barrowman and Camille Coduri in studio is beyond comedy gold. They’re like the Sapphire & Steel remake we’ve been cruelly denied.”

Director Scott Handcock added: “It goes without saying that it was a privilege to work with Alex Kingston on this set. Like John, she’s such a versatile actor, so getting to throw all manner of scenarios at her alongside Captain Jack, was an absolute blast!”

“And, of course, the main joy stems from the fact that John Barrowman plays him. It’s always a pleasure to work with John – he’s such fun and has bags of energy – and is also an incredible actor. The great thing about this series is we’re able to showcase all his abilities.”

The Lives of Captain Jack volume three features the following rollicking good adventures:

Crush by Guy Adams – Captain Jack takes Mrs Tyler on a luxury cruise in space.

Mighty & Despair by Tim Foley – On a distant planet in the far future, two travellers have come looking for a mythical hero.

R&J by James Goss – From ancient battles to eternal wars. A pair of time-cross’d lovers take the stars

The Lives of Captain Jack volume three is available now at £19.99 as a download and £24.99 as a collector’s edition CD box set (which also unlocks a free download version on release). This exclusive Big Finish pre-release price will be held until the set’s general release at the end of May 2020.

Listeners can save money by purchasing all three volumes of The Lives of Captain Jack released to date, as a download bundle for just £66 or as a triple box set of collector’s edition CDs at only £75.

Please note that Big Finish is currently operating a digital-first release schedule. The mailout of collector’s edition CDs will be delayed, but all purchases of this release unlock a digital copy that can be immediately downloaded or played on the Big Finish app from the release date.
