Hank von Hell – Bum to Bum (Sony Music Entertainment / Century Media Music)

He’s back! After 8 years in the wilderness, former Turbonegro frontman Hank von Helvete is donning the black eye make-up and jiggling his belly like he’s never been away. I haven’t half missed the bugger! As I’ve stated previously on these pages, I admire Tony Sylvester and I adored The Dukes of Nothing’s War & Wine album, but for me, Hank was a massive part of Turbonegro and without him things just didn’t seem the same.

Bum to Bum is full to the innuendo brim of tongue-in-check rock ‘n’ roll; that is, everything you’d expect from the larger than life Norwegian. Arguably, Hank von Hell sounds more like Turbonegro than the current Turbonegro. Sure, it’s not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea, but this punk scribe is welcoming him back with open, homoerotic arms. The Egomania album lands on 2nd November and one thing’s for sure, I’ll be at the front of the queue in my double denim. Fuck it! Let’s make it triple denim. Welcome back, Hank. Ginge Knievil
