George Thorogood & The Destroyers – Live in Boston 1982: The Complete Concert (Craft Recordings)

Sometimes you have to be brutally honest, trim all of the excess and cut straight to the bone, and this is one of those times. I’ve been a  hardcore, foot to the floor George Thorogood fanatic since the Destroyers blew the brains out of the back of my heat at a show In Hershey in 1992, and their Live record was the soundtrack to one of the most debauched, reckless and insane years of my life. It was the happiest I’ve ever been, bar a few blips on the radar here and there, and George and his Destroyers saw me through it all with pure rock’n’roll abandon.

So, I’m going to keep it simple. This record isn’t just one of the best live albums you’ll ever hear, it’s one of the greatest rock’n’roll records ever.  Packed to bursting with the sort of high octane, adrenalized blues and rock’n’roll that George and his Destroyers forged their cast iron reputation with, it’ll beat you into submission and turn you into a diehard Thorogood obsessive after a single spin. This damn record will change your life, and you’ll wake up every morning and thank you maker that it did. You don’t want Live In Boston 1982, you NEED it. It’s that simple.  Tim Cundle
