Gehennah – Metal Police CD (Metal Blade)
The Swedish four piece return with 12 tracks of METAL – yeah in capital letters. Think Motorhead, Anvil, Venom, Razor etc. It’s about as no-nonsense as it gets. Lyrically the band are a hoot, with song titles such as ‘Carve Off Your Face (and Shove It Up Your Ass)’ and ‘Piss Off I’m Drinking’. A pretension free shout-out to 80s Metal; Gehennah are in the gutter and damn proud of it. The ideal album to party hard and drink Special Brew to. Fasten up that bullet belt and pull on that denim cut-off, it’s time to bang that head. Ian Pickens
