Quartet Set To Release New EP “Elements” Through Infections Sounds On August 15th

British progressive metallers Dreamwaves are set to release their brilliant debut EP, “Elements” on August 15th through indie label Infectious Sounds. Label owner Phil Gavin Bennett had this to say on the signing:

“Infectious Sounds are pleased to announce the signing of Brighton based Tech Metal band Dreamwaves, featuring ex members of Callista & Asperitas! The new EP will be available for pre-orders very soon!”

Guitarist David Lovejoy stated:

\”We\’re extremely happy to put this EP out via Infectious sounds. Its been in the works for over a year now and we can\’t wait for everyone to hear it!\”

Dreamwaves is an instrumental progressive metal band from the south coast of the UK. Although new to the scene, they are already making an impact; playing shows with the likes of Cambion, Exist Immortal and Shields, to name a few. Dreamwaves effortlessly blend an impressive technicality, with a broad appreciation for melody and accessibility into their music. Incorporating staple metal sounds, with classical elements and an underlined nod to contemporary pop.

Resting somewhere between the instrumental dynamics of Cynic, SiKTh & Animals As Leaders; Dreamwaves’s debut EP, “Elements”, flies between crushing heaviness, high octane guitar histrionics and layered ambience. Tracks like “Nines” scream out of the stereo with an exceptional urgency and charm, while “Echo” showcases a flirtation with jazz-infused melodies and borderline Converge level aggression, while the piano lead “Breeze” evolves and churns with masterful skill.

While a young band, Dreamwaves have worked hard to push the limitations of their genre. With a strong EP firmly under their belts and with dates lining up, the young quartet are one to watch for fans of mind bending musical ingenuity.
