Demon Head – Thunder on the Fields (The Sign)

\"\"

It’s a damn good job that I haven’t dropped acid since 1989 or lost my mind to ‘shrooms since ‘91, because if I was tripping my balls off while listening to Demon Head, there’s a very good chance that I’d never come back from whatever reality I was visiting. Sounding like Jethro Tull jamming with the Doors, Arthur Brown and Hendrix, pumped up on the best LSD that Hoffman ever manufactured, at the fabled Crossroads where Robert Johnson sold his soul watched solely by a captive audience of Lucifer and his minions, Thunder On the Fields is a cerebral, hypnotic journey through the more adventurous and outrageous musical and literary endeavours of the late sixties and early seventies. And while it’s cool to be retro, Demon Head are more than contemporary enough to make the nostalgia sound fresh, original and vital and, damn, they are absolutely fantastic. Open your mind and feel the Thunder… Tim Cundle
