THE PRISONER ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK TO BE RELEASED ON VINYL

BRAND NEW vinyl editions of the original soundtrack for the iconic 1967 series The Prisoner have never sounded better and will be released as 12” LPs exclusively through networkonair.com on 11 May 2015, available to pre-buy** from 23 January 2015.

Two versions of The Prisoner Original Soundtrack vinyl will be released:
White vinyl is presented in an overprinted transparent plastic sleeve limited to just 500 copies, £27
Black vinyl is presented in a gatefold sleeve, limited to just 1,000 copies, £22

The Prisoner Original Soundtrack features tracks from legendary film and TV composers Ron Grainer, Albert Elms and Wilfred Josephs, and additional new tracks previously not available on vinyl.

These audiophile-level albums are presented on 180g virgin vinyl featuring new transfers from original analogue tape elements. Ray Staff (internationally recognised for his work with Muse, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin among others) and John Webber at Sir George Martin’s legendary AIR studios who worked on the mastering and vinyl cutting; the high quality pressing of the vinyl was done by the renowned Pallas pressing plant in Germany.

First aired in 1967, Patrick McGoohan’s iconic series The Prisoner followed a former secret agent who is abducted and awakes in an idyllic coastal village where there appears to be no escape.

GIDEON’S WAY ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK RELEASED ON 12” VINYL

THE NEVER before released original soundtrack for the popular ‘60s crime thriller Gideon’s Way, from legendary film and TV composer Edwin Astley (The Saint, Danger Man), is to be released as a 12” vinyl LP in gatefold sleeve packaging and limited to just 1,000 copies. It will be released on 11 May 2015, and available to pre-buy** exclusively through networkonair.com on 23 January 2015, £22.

This audiophile-level album is presented on 180g virgin vinyl featuring new transfers from original analogue tape elements. The classic crime thriller was based on the books by John Creasey and starred John Gregson (Pursuit of the Graf Spee, The Longest Day) as Commander George Gideon.

In 2009 Network released The Music of ITC on CD, where the sleeve notes stated that the incidental music cues for Gideon\’s Way were believed lost. In 2009, that was indeed the case, but six years is a long time in archive television research and the missing music tapes for the this series were subsequently found in the vaults of ITC.
